13 Nov The World Can’t Take Our Joy Away
To rise each day the same old way,
And greet the teapot like a friend,
Flip through a book, with time I may,
Write down the thoughts I long to say,
My joy’s innate, it knows no end.
The world can’t draw what’s stored inside,
Joy and happiness relate,
Though happiness requires a guide,
The right equation to abide,
Affected by the hand of fate.
But joy is different, they can’t take,
Never to lose, only to give,
Light from within that’s hard to fake,
It shines the moment when we wake,
What it truly means to live.
Throughout the day we’ll meet our match,
From those who see life differently,
But joy’s a fire, it may catch,
To heal a wound, to sew a patch,
You never know who you’ll set free.
Our happiness may come and go,
It’s natural at times to be down,
We’re human beings, it’s what we know,
But you’re a king or queen, a pro,
So wear your joy like it’s a crown.
