23 Aug The Dare to Dream Podcast #37: Forget About Success and Listen to Your Intuition
Success. Money. Happiness. Love.
These are all targets that many of us are aiming at. Yet what if the best way to attain these outcomes was to forget about them entirely?
Austrian psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl says: “success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side-effect of one’s personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one’s surrender to a person other than oneself. Happiness must happen, and the same holds for success: you have to let it happen by not caring about it.”
In this episode, we dive deep into multiple perspectives on success and suffering, ranging from Frankl to Buddha to Jordan Peterson. We explore why we agree that following our natural curiosity and intuition is the right choice while acknowledging that it’s damn hard to know we are aiming at the right thing.
Join us for another episode of self-inquiry, deep discovery, and big questions you don’t want to ask yourself right before bed!
