A Walk Through Brooklyn

A world of grey
Spires rise into
Misty wilderness
Empty
Our world down here
So full of life
Letting go
Letting go
Struggles in my mind
I walk through history
I’m alone
But not for sounds
Of sirens
Wind
Water lapping
Sensations and
Cold
It makes me feel alive
Inside the world is quiet
Still
Outside so very vibrant
Still
Lost again in things
I can’t understand
Will we forever be alone
Can others understand
What makes us break or
Come alive
The city’s magnificence
Beneath a cold grey
Sky

I love your poems almost as much as I love your stories. You’ve captured the atmosphere so well.
